Original work was Acrylic, oil stick, and paper on canvas, 16 x 20 in.
The idea behind the painting was a verse from the Holy Quran, which states in English translation that "Men are the maintainers and protectors of women". The word for Men in this verse is QAWAAMOON, which in its verb form means to stand. So I took the understanding literally and created a man standing with his hands to his ears, his hands around his waist, and his hands to his sides (which are also Muslim prayer positions), standing erect in his spiritual manhood form. I deliberately used paper cutouts of Malcom X's hands to represent men standing up for something.
The thick, super-heavyweight matte poster prints have a 10.4 mil thickness and deliver a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution.
Ships in a plastic sleeve with a cardboard backing.
